Research Project on Birds in Urban vs. Non-urban Environments

Quentin Bordelon | Published on 4/7/2026
An undergraduate group at Louisiana State University is conducting research on bird observations and their distance from urban areas. The research is aimed at understanding bird patterns with regard to human population density. The students will be analysing bird counts and bird types as parameters and understanding how urbanisation affects these parameters.

One of the students, Quentin Bordelon, has contacted the Friends of Black Hill & Morialta to request that if you have any observations that you would be able to contribute, please consider joining the research project on iNaturalist. Further information on the project is available at https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/birds-in-urban-vs-non-urban-environments. If you have any questions regarding the research you can contact Quentin at qborde1@lsu.edu
