Trees for Life Bushcare Workshop
John Fleming | Published on 4/7/2026
Recently, Trees for Life ran a Bush for Life Bushcare workshop for us.
The workshop covered:
- Bush for Life background and their parent group Trees for Life
- Native vegetation and biodiversity
- The changing nature of the biodiversity of the greater Adelaide area
- Bushcare principles, practices and strategies
- Regeneration
- Minimal disturbance techniques
- Herbicide usage and application methods
- Keeping safe
- Participants were supplied with a list of resources to explore for themselves
- A site visit with practical demonstrations concluded the day.
The workshop generated some good discussion about managing a bushcare site, and dealing with various weed species.
However, not everyone who wanted to attend was available on the day.
If you would like to attend a Bush for Life workshop at a yet to be determined time, please provide your details to our Secretary, John Fleming - email
secretary.fobhm@gmail.com, so we may assess the demand. If you have preferred days when you would be available, provide that information too, so that can be factored in to the equation.
The committee will collate a wait list and explore ways of effectively accommodating the demand.
